I never set out to become a boudoir photographer.
I stumbled into it by complete accident ... or at least, that's what I thought at the time.
One day, someone close to me asked if I would photograph her. She wanted a boudoir session, and to be honest, I didn't really understand why. I knew photography. I knew how to use light. I knew how to make people laugh. But I had no idea how profoundly that day would change the course of my life.

I arrived with nothing more than my camera, an open heart and a promise to make her feel comfortable.
We laughed. We danced. We chatted like old friends.
Then came the moment she saw her photographs.
Instead of smiling, she burst into tears.
My heart sank. I thought I'd failed her.
I asked if I'd done something wrong. She looked at me and said something I'll never forget.
"He told me I was ugly... fat... disgusting... that I was worthless."
Then she looked back at her photographs.
"But he's wrong, Nik. Look at me... I'm beautiful. I am special."
In that moment, it felt as though years of hurt simply fell away.
The walls she'd spent so long building around herself began to crumble, and for the first time in a very long time, she saw herself through kinder eyes.
I wasn't just watching someone look at photographs.
I was watching someone meet herself again.
That was the moment everything changed.
Not just for her.
For me.

I realised photography had never really been about photographs.
It was about helping people reconnect with the person they'd forgotten was still there.
That afternoon wasn't simply my first boudoir session.
It was the day I found my purpose.

Since then, I've had the privilege of photographing women from every walk of life ~ celebrating milestones, healing from heartbreak, embracing motherhood, marking new beginnings, honouring life's adventures and simply choosing themselves for a change.

Whether we're creating something intimate, adventurous, glamorous or beautifully windswept on a beach at sunset, my mission has never changed.
To create a space where you feel safe.
Seen.
Celebrated.
And reminded of the incredible woman you've always been.

You don't need to know how to pose.
You don't need to lose weight.
You don't need confidence before you arrive.
That's my job.

All you have to do... is take the first step.
